Understanding some of the driver assistance technologies offered by Honda

Honda has become a leader when it comes to safety in recent years with its Honda Sensing suite of active safety technologies. Active safety systems are designed to prevent accidents by first warning the driver of a potential danger, and then intervening should the driver not react to the warning. Honda has a range of these technologies including Forward Collision Warning, Lane Keep Assist and Adaptive Cruise Control.

Forward Collision Warning

FCW is designed to warn the driver if a vehicle suddenly brakes ahead by using a small camera on the windshield. There’s an automatic braking technology also offered to apply the brakes if needed automatically.

Lane Keep Assist

Lane Keep Assist pairs with Lane Departure Warning. If your vehicle is about to swerve out of its lane, LKA can adjust steering and prevent that from happening.

Adaptive Cruise Control

Adaptive Cruise Control is a system designed to make driving on the highway easier by automatically adjusting speed to keep a pre-established distance with the vehicle ahead when cruise control is activated.
